I've always dreamt of creating something like this, and with the fantasy fair coming up I wanted to give it a try. Both parts used where damaged. The mouse was dragged in by the neighborhood cat and was missing bits of the head, and the bird came from a breeder and died during molting and was thus missing the rump feathers.

~To whom it may concern, (please read before accusing me of anything!)
The animals used in this project died a natural cause. NONE of the animals I work on are killed for the purpose of taxidermy only and most are found along side the road or come from bird/animal breeders in the area.

When I first saw this I thought, "Nice sculpture, and well photographed too." It wasn't until I read the desc that I boggled a bit. You certainly have more artistic guts than I do, no pun, I wouldn't have the stomach to do such a thing.

Reminds me of the story of a Bambi animator finding a dead deer and bringing it into the studio to study and work on it. intense to keep around. Artists have been doing that sort of thing for centuries, so this is just sort of a continuation of a tradition.

Wow, this is incredibly cool and well done. Do you have other taxidermy work online somewhere?

That looked just like a sparrow to me until I looked closer. I'd love to see the looks on people's faces if you entered it in a wildlife show. :)

Is it ok if I save thisone to my computer to show someone?

This is really great, although I would never have the stomach to do something like this!

Minus my weirdiness around dead things, its really well posed & lit. A great composite that shows imagination with uh..."spare parts" XD

This is very good! You've got guts to do it. Almost enough to make a haggis! :D (Sorry...)

Wow, that's pretty amazing. I had to look twice (after reading the comments) to even see the mouse-end. It was a really seamless transition.

wow... just... wow i could never do this but youdid a great job, seems the bits were damaged and suited your needs perfectly! Im glad that they both died of natural causes too, im sure the little guys are glad their bodies were used for such a pretty peice of art.
